Hi! I’m @kailyu, the administrator of mechabare.art. On Twitter I explore mechabare storytelling and share my passion for anime - especially Plastic Memories, my all-time favourite. With Japanese language skills honed through years of immersive engagement with anime, manga, and light novels, I bring a fan’s perspective to digital creativity.
I currently focus on producing and curating AI-generated art, with a thematic emphasis on broken robot girls and internal mechanical aesthetics a.k.a mechabare. My creative journey began with Customcast, where I created CG images and animations of Isla, the main heroine of Plastic Memories.
In August 2019, I generated my first AI artwork of Isla using Waifulabs - marking the start of an evolving fascination with generative art. Since then, I’ve witnessed and embraced rapid technological advancements that continue to raise the visual and conceptual potential of AI-driven creativity.
Offline, I’m an avid photographer and enjoy traveling abroad, as well as weekend drives through the countryside in my compact convertible.

"MECHABARE" (メカバレ)

Exposure of internal circuits and mechanical parts by androids or cyborgs due to damage or maintenance. The source Japanese phrase, transliterated as "mekabare", originally meant situations where androids are revealed to be non-humans via unintended exposure of internal parts or by any other means or conduct. Gradually it evolved to adopt its current meaning.
